Pedestrian struck by truck
A woman was struck by a truck on Main Street in Wiscasset the morning of November 7.
Fire and Rescue, Wiscasset Ambulance, Wiscasset Police and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded at approximately 11:40 a.m., after a QuickTurn Auto Repair flatbed allegedly struck a woman as she was walking across Main Street near Middle Street.
The woman who is identified as Kasey McNamara, 38, of Westport Island, had no updates to her status as of Friday afternoon. After Thursday’s accident McNamara was lifted onto a stretcher and rushed to Maine Medical Center in Portland with head and leg injuries.
The flatbed truck, which was operated by Evan Jones, 19, of Nobleboro, appeared to have minimal damage.
Northbound traffic was rerouted and southbound traffic had to squeeze by the accident. As crews were working, a Hammond Lumber truck scraped up against a Hancock Lumber truck, causing the Hammond truck to lose a sideview mirror and the Hancock truck to lose its cargo.
The Sheriff’s Office will assist the Wiscasset Police in crime scene reconstruction.
