Boothbay's Coburn House has changed hands. The buyer of the late 19th century, former event center is choosing not to speak publicly at this time, his realty agent, Poe Cilley of Carleton Realty, said November 14.

“His preference is to stay off the front page,” Cilley said.

The Bank of Maine sold the property at 732 Wiscasset Road to Balding Dentist LLC of 34 Quarry Point Road in Edgecomb on Thursday, Nov. 13, according to documents recorded at the Lincoln County Registry of Deeds on Friday, Nov. 14.

According to other recently filed, separate records at the Registry of Deeds, Catherine Norton of 34 Quarry Point Road in Edgecomb sold property in Edgecomb to Toby J. Clarkson and Deanna M. Clarkson of 147 Townsend Avenue in Boothbay Harbor on October 30.

The website at www.wellness.com lists Toby J. Clarkson as a dentist at Boothbay Family Dentistry at 149 Townsend Avenue.

The Coburn House went under contract following an October 18 auction. The $75,000 high bid was negotiated higher, an auctioneer for Keenan Auction Company has said.

The documents filed about the November 13 sale do not list a price.
