Rising Tide donates to New Hope for Women
On November 15, Rising Tide Community Market donated $311.32 to New Hope for Women as part of their Co-ops for Community Day program.
Each month, Rising Tide donates .5 percent of Rising Tide’s Wednesday sales to a different local nonprofit. New Hope for Women was the beneficiary for the month of October 2013.
“Our shoppers know that by shopping here on Wednesdays, they’re giving back to the community just by doing their normal grocery shopping,” said Elya Markert, Rising Tide’s Outreach & Marketing Coordinator. “Several people commented that they especially appreciated contributing to New Hope for Women in October as it was Domestic Violence Awareness Month.”
New Hope for Women offers support to people in Lincoln, Knox, Sagadahoc and Waldo counties affected by domestic violence, dating violence and stalking, and provides educational resources to assist our communities in creating a safer and healthier future.
New Hope for Women believes that a just and peaceful society must commit itself to confronting and overcoming all forms of oppression and violence. For more information about New Hope for Women, visit www.newhopeforwomen.org.

Upcoming organizations that will receive a donation over the winter include:
January 2014: Community Energy Fund of Lincoln County
