Idalene R. Pinkham
Idalene Rose (Leeman) Pinkham, 91, of Boothbay Harbor, died November 18, 2013 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, with her loving family at her side.
She was born in Boothbay Harbor on September 9, 1922, the daughter of George and Ida Burnham Leeman. She attended Boothbay Region High School and graduated with the class of 1940.
Idalene spent many happy years working for Wheeler’s Drug Store. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends, as well as gardening, with a fond love for roses.
Idalene was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth T. Pinkham, in 1984, brothers Parker and Ellsworth, and a sister Katherine.
She is survived by three children, Victor and wife Annabelle of Bucksport, Sylvia and husband Roger of Venice, Fla., Kenneth and wife Mary of Portland; nine grandchildren, Lucinda Hocking, Tracy Bennett, Erika Pinkham, Kathryn Pinkham, Vanessa Smith, Susan Bagrowski, Richard Rainville, Anne Gray and Nancy Harkins; and 11 great-grandchildren, John Hocking, Daniel Bennett, Aryn Swanson, Alex Swanson, Maya Smith, James Smith, Alexandra Bagrowski, Jodi Bagrowski, Kenneth Rainville, Logan Harkins and Ainsley Gray; along with several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. at the A.T. Hutchins Funeral and Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Ave., Portland. Burial and graveside service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 11 a.m., at the Evergreen Cemetery, Barters Island Road, Boothbay.
