Save Democracy Town Hall in Waldoboro April 28
A group of Lincoln County citizens will be conducting a Save Democracy Town Hall event at the Waldo Theatre in Waldoboro on Monday, April 28 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The event is open to the public.
Join us for an insightful conversation and town hall on democracy. The event will open with prominent historian Benjamin Carter Hett, who has written many books on German history and the Nazi rise to power, including “The Death of Democracy.” A short Q&A will follow his remarks.
Senator Susan Collins has been invited to participate in this town hall, although there has been no confirmation of her attendance.
Also at the event, attendees will be given the opportunity to read personal statements about how the policies and actions of the current administration have impacted them. Time will be allotted for audience members to read their impact statements, and these statements will be delivered to Senators Collins and King, and Representatives Pingree and Golden.
The event is free, but space is limited. Please email Jan John at janjohn1us@yahoo.com to reserve your free ticket. Priority entry will be given to those who reserved a seat.
This free event is open to anyone regardless of political affiliation. For a copy of the guidance document and template for your personal impact statements, please email Jan John at janjohn1us@yahoo.com. Please send a copy of your completed impact statement to Jan John as these will be packaged up and delivered to our federal representatives’ local offices.
Plans are being made to invite Senator King and Representative Pingree to future Town Halls.
