Boothbay/Wiscasset boys place third in MVC meet
The Boothbay/Wiscasset boys track team placed third May 15 in an eight-team event at Maranacook Community High School in Readfield. Boothbay/Wiscasset scored 79 points. Winthrop won with 212.5 and Maranacook finished second with 130. Boothbay/Wiscasset's Ben Gapski won the 110M hurdles and Ross Gaffney won the 1,600M race walk.
In the 100M dash, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Isaac Fanslau finished fourth with a 12.47 second mark. Maranacook's Seth Dunphy won with a 11.98 mark.
In the 400M dash, Fanslau finished third with a 56.30 second mark. Dirigo's William Morris won with 54.48. In the 800M run, Boothbay/Wiscasset's AJ Crocker finished second with a two-minute, 18.4 second time. Winthrop's Sam St. Germain won with a 2:17.46 time.
In the 3,200M run, Ross Gaffney finished sixth with a 12-minute, 44.50 second time. Maranacook's Cooper Tarbuck won with 11:37.09.
In the 110M run, Gapski won with a 18.52 second time. In the 300M hurdles, Gapski finished fourth with a 49.66 second mark. Winthrop's Nick Wagner won with 48.26.
In the 4x400M relay, Boothbay/Wiscasset's team of Aron Geddes, Isaac Fanslau, Ben Gapski and Lysander Lefevre finished second with a four-minute, 8.27 second time. Winthrop won with 3:51. In the 4x800M, Boothbay/Wiscasset's team of Ethan Clark, Louie Caidoc, Nathan Percival and AJ Crocker finished second with a 10-minute, 17.73 second time. Maranacook won with 10:04.96.
In the javelin, Gapski finished fifth with a 98-foot, two-inch throw. Winthrop's Jacob Feith won with 167-7. In the shot put, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Logan Bourne finished fourth with a 35-foot, five-inch throw. Winthrop's Hunter Reynolds won with 37-7.
In the 1,600M race walk, Boothbay/Wiscasset participants took the top two spots. Gaffney won with an eight-minute, 4.2 second time. Jackson Zehm finished second with 8:05.62.
Boothbay/Wiscasset's next meet is the Saint Joseph's Fleet Feed Maine Elite on Saturday, May 17.
