It’s budget season in Damariscotta
Budget season has arrived in Damariscotta.
The budget committee and board of selectmen will begin reviewing town manager Matt Lutkus' proposed budgets beginning next week.
The first round of budget discussions will begin at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 19 at the town offices. On that day, the fire department's operating and capital budgets, municipal buildings, police department's operating and capital budgets, animal control budget and emergency management budgets will all be discussed.
The following Wednesday, March 26, at 3:30 p.m. the cemetery operating and capital budgets, library budget, CLC Ambulance budget, LCTV budget, adult education, highway and interlocal capital budgets, town hall building budget, administration budget, assessor's office budget, code enforcement budget and planning budget will be discussed.
On that same day, an insurance budget, legal services budget, traffic lights budget, lighting, hydrant, transfer station, town clock contingency fund and capital reserves budget will be discussed.
The meetings are held at the town offices, 21 School Street, and are open to the public.
