Wiscasset High School senior Briana Goud is currently competing for one of eighteen $5,000 Sportsmanship Scholarships offered by Hood to New England students. The 10 students from each New England state with the most votes between now and April 18 will be selected to be interviewed by a panel of judges. The judges will then select three students from each state to receive the $5,000 scholarship.

How can you help Goud become one of the winners from the state of Maine? Go to www.hood.com or to the Hood Facebook page and vote for Goud. Members of the public can vote once a day either on the Hood website or the Facebook page. The more votes for Goud, the greater the chance that she will be selected to receive the $5,000 scholarship!

Goud is the daughter of Patricia and Duane Goud of Wiscasset. She has been a member of the soccer, basketball and softball teams throughout high school, serving as captain for both soccer and basketball teams.

A leader off the athletic fields and court as well, Goud has served as president of the Class of 2014, president of student council and president of the National Honor Society. She will attend the University of New England in Biddeford in the fall.
