Edgecomb man indicted for rollover
An Edgecomb man involved in a 2013 rollover has been charged by the Lincoln County Grand Jury for operating under the influence.
Drew Wallace, 24, was indicted on one count of aggravated criminal OUI on March 10 after a July 2013 accident on an all-terrain vehicle.
Wallace allegedly was drunk when an ATV carrying him and another man, Edgecomb's Christopher Dighton on July 17, 2013 on Old County Road in Edgecomb. The ATV the pair was riding tipped over, spilling both. Dighton, who has recovered from his wounds, was given a LifeFlight to Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Under Maine law, an aggravated OUI occurs under several circumstances, including bodily harm to another person.
Wallace was also injured in the accident. He was transported by ambulance and was released shortly after.
If convicted, Wallace could face up to five years in prison or a $5,000 fine as aggravated OUI is a class C felony.
