Midcoast Unitarian Universalists
Discussing ‘shame-free existence’
Tue, 05/06/2014 - 2:30pm
Rev. Erika Hewitt's reflection for Sunday, May 11 at the Midcoast Unitarian Universalist Fellowship service is "Towards a Shame-Free Existence."
"We live in a culture permeated by shame," she notes, which researcher Brené Brown defines as the fear of disconnection. "As a result, we lose our ability to be vulnerable and to engage with the world." Rev. Erika asks "What would our communities look and feel like if instead we dared to live from our vulnerability, empathy and connection?"
