Good Shepherd Food Bank at St. Philip’s May 29
On Thursday, May 29, at 5 p.m., St. Philip’s Help Yourself Shelf Food Pantry will host Good Shepherd Food Bank’s Food Mobile at 12 Hodge St. in Wiscasset, thanks to a generous grant to Good Shepherd. Anyone experiencing food insecurity is encouraged to take part.
Participants are requested to arrive early to sign in and secure a place in line. Barring inclement weather, the distribution will occur outside in front of the Lippiat Hall entrance. Should there be rain, the event will be held in the hall, and participants should enter through the office door on the opposite side of the church to register.
The Help Yourself Shelf is open to all each Thursday at 5 p.m. People are encouraged to arrive early to sign in and examine the offerings available, especially if registering for the first time. Selection begins at 5 p.m. and is generally concluded by 5:45 p.m. If unable to attend but in need, call the church at 207-882-7184 to arrange an alternative.
A matching grant opportunity through Good Shepherd is available to the Help Yourself Shelf. Those wishing to help with this effort are asked to make checks payable to St. Philip’s Church with “Help Yourself Shelf Matching Grant” written in the memo line. Check’s should be sent to the Church at 12 Hodge St., Wiscasset, ME 04578.
No amount is too small or too large, and all funds will be applied to the Shelf’s account at Good Shepherd to purchase food and supplies for distribution to those seeking the Shelf’s help.
