As part of the ongoing Ounce of Prevention series, Mid Coast Senior Health Center will host a presentation by Doreen Siddall, Nurse Practitioner with Mid Coast Senior Health Center. “Elder Self-Neglect: A Hidden Form of Mistreatment,” will be held Monday, June 9, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Mid Coast Senior Health Center, 58 Baribeau Drive in Brunswick. 

Self-neglect occurs when an individual is unable to effectively care for themselves, either intentionally or unintentionally. Siddall’s presentation will address this most common form of elder abuse, with a focus on how to recognize it and the emotional struggle between independence and safety. This program will offer strategies and resources to assist participants in keeping their loved ones safe as they age.
