Last Story Time of the year is June 11
“Did you know there are more than 4,800 different kinds of dragonflies? They’ve been on the earth for about 300 million years — long before dinosaurs!”
The children at the Wiscasset Library’s Story Time learned these facts and more by reading “Are You A Dragonfly?” by Judy Allen and Tudor Humphries. We also enjoyed the story of “Sir Small and the Dragonfly” by Jane O’Connor.
Sir Small rides into the town of Pee Wee on his ant carrying his sword that is no bigger than a pin. He feels right at home in this town since he is no bigger than a toothpick himself. During his stay, a dragonfly swoops down and takes Lady Teena back to his cave. “She must be saved” orders the King of Pee Wee, but no one is brave enough, except for Sir Small. While the dragonfly is sleeping, Sir Small sneaks to his cave and rescues Lady Teena. Horray for Sir Small, the bravest of all!
Our last Story Time is June 11 at 10:30 a.m., then we will begin registration for the Summer Reading Program “FIZZ, BOOM, READ” on June 18. All are welcome.
