Dressing down benefits Boothbay Region Community Resources
Employees of The First recently raised $702.31 for the Boothbay Region Community Resources, after donating a dollar for each Friday they dressed casually for one month. Since 1995, employees of The First have been dressing casually on Fridays in support of charitable organizations throughout their market areas in Maine.
The Boothbay Region Community Resources Council, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, assists persons in need in Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Edgecomb and Southport by providing funds, social services information and referrals in a confidential and collaborative manner.
The funds will go towards the Community Navigator Program, a case management program for local people in need and the Food for Thought Program, which provides high nutrition, high protein meals to families with children who are in need of healthy foods.
The First has been serving the financial needs of Maine people since 1864, with banking and investment management offices in 15 communities along the coast and in Bangor.
