Newcastle seeks new town administrator
Newcastle has set a deadline of May 15 for applications for a new town administrator and treasurer, after deciding in late March not to renew the contract of current administrator Lynn Maloney, assessors board chairman Benjamin Frey said. Maloney’s last day is June 30.
Maloney has worked for the town for 24 years, beginning in 1992, when she became town clerk. She was appointed interim administrator in 2013, and received the permanent appointment in 2014.
However, on March 28, the Board of Selectmen decided in executive session not to renew her contract.
In an online ad for candidates, the town wrote that “The ideal candidate will possess a depth of knowledge of the many issues facing small towns, demonstrate effective leadership, administrative and communication skills and have previous experience in municipal government and project management.”
