Band for Books back for third year
The Friends of the Library’s fundraising committee is busy planning the third annual Bands for Books event. The First National Bank of Wiscasset, Leavitt and Parris of Portland and Marianmade Farm, LLC of Wiscasset have all agreed to sponsor this year’s installment.
“Bands for Books” raises money for Wiscasset Public Library improvements and community outreach projects. This year, it will be held on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 5 p.m., in the lavender drying house at Marianmade Farm.
The cocktail party features food and a cash bar, both from Little Village Bistro in Wiscasset. The band DownEast Brass will play a variety of music. Tables and chairs sprinkle the waterfront lawn outside the barn, while the music wafts out the door and and windows, creating a magical experience.
A multiple-item raffle of unique services and products will be available, with tickets for sale at the door and bar. Easy listening or dancing to the swing music is encouraged.
Please mark your calendar for this really fun event. Detailed information on ticket sales will be announced.
