The Wednesday, Jan. 18 meeting that Wiscasset selectmen planned, for setting the time and location of a pair of referendum votes in March, has been canceled, according to an email Wednesday afternoon from Administrative Assistant Kathy Oronato.

It was found that because one of the items — the school department’s proposed energy conservation project — is a money item, the ballot will need to show the budget committee’s recommendation as well as selectmen’s, Town Manager Marian Anderson said in a phone interview. A budget committee meeting has not yet been scheduled, Anderson said.
