Busy night for Wiscasset selectmen March 7
Wiscasset selectmen have an executive session prior to their regular 6 p.m. meeting on Tuesday, March 7.
The closed-door session is at 5 p.m. with attorney Shana Mueller of Bernstein Shur, pursuant to 1 M.R.S.A. § 405 (6) (E). Section (E) pertains to “pending or contemplated litigation (including) settlement offers where premature general public knowledge would clearly place the State, municipality or other public agency or person at a substantial disadvantage,” according to state statutes.
The regular meeting to follow in the hearing room includes a public hearing on renewing a liquor license for Sarah’s Café & Twin Schooners Pub at the corner of Main and Water streets.
EMS Director Toby Martin will update selectmen on ambulance 87. Selectmen authorized repairs to the 2003 vehicle after an oil leak was discovered. The repairs were done by Freedom Auto Care of Boothbay and completed on March 2, Martin told the Wiscasset Newspaper.
“As it turned out the repairs needed for the ambulance were a lot less than what we thought they’d be,” he said.
Town Planner will update the board on the airport office space rental. The board will review and approve suggested changes to guidelines for use of town property and equipment; and will reschedule a site visit to the Wiscasset Academy building on Warren Street. There will also be a report on interviews with auditing firms.
In other upcoming meetings, selectmen will meet at 5 p.m. March 13 to review a capital improvement plan, and at 5 p.m. March 14 for a budget workshop.
