Greg Barter, a longtime Hannaford Associate at the Boothbay Harbor store, retired Nov. 2 after 25 years of service. When approached about his plans for retirement, Greg's first thoughts were about helping other people. He made the decision that in lieu of throwing a retirement party, he would donate the funds to the Boothbay Region Food Pantry. Accepting the check are Food Pantry representatives Tom Wilson and Betsy Wing. Upon retirement Greg is looking forward to spending time with his family and continuing to volunteer at the food pantry.
