53rd annual Fall Foliage Festival canceled due to COVID-19

Tue, 09/01/2020 - 7:30am

The 53rd annual Fall Foliage Festival scheduled for Oct. 10 and 11, 2020 at the Boothbay Railway Museum, has been canceled due to COVID-19.

“After thoughtful and careful consideration, the Railway Village and the Boothbay Region Information Center have made the difficult decision to cancel the 53rd annual Fall Foliage Festival. We believe this decision is in the best interest of the Fair and the health and safety of all participants. The Fall Foliage Festival is a family tradition in Midcoast Maine, and we look forward to continuing the tradition in 2021,” announced the  Boothbay Region Information Center

The Boothbay Region Information Center and the Railway Village wish to extend a very special thank you to all participants, volunteers and attendees who have made the festival a fall tradition in Maine. We also wish to thank all vendors and our event sponsor, Geico Maine, who signed up this year, in spite of these very difficult times.

Fall is undoubtedly the most beautiful season to visit Maine.  The crisp, clean air and the vibrant foliage provide perfect conditions for outdoor recreation.  Our beautiful peninsula offers endless options for lodging, dining, shopping, adventure, arts, entertainment, and Maine’s best seafood!   Our community is waiting to welcome visitors this fall, and we hope our festival fans will still come and support our wonderful local businesses.

The Fall Foliage Festival is a major fundraiser for the Boothbay Region Information Center, which has welcomed visitors and tourists to the Boothbay Region for over 61 years.  For those who wish to offer support due to the loss of their 2020 fundraiser, donations can be sent to P.O. Box 187, Boothbay, ME 04537 or visit www.Boothbay.org for more information.
