Arlene B. Logan
Arlene B. Logan, 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of April 30, 2025.
She was born to the Nation’s family in Dallas, Texas on Aug. 22, 1930. She was shortly thereafter adopted by Jack and Erline Bigony of Corsicana, Texas.
She was crowned Cotton Queen of Texas then left Texas to attend Traphagen School of design in Manhattan, New Yor where she met numerous designers. After graduating she returned to Dallas to work at Neiman Marcus. Having an adventurous spirit she earned her single engine pilots license and surreptitiously hit the auto racing track on occasion.
Arlene loved being on or close by the water to enjoy sailing and whatever the beauty it had to offer on any given day. Always lending a helping hand in painting, sewing, interior design and assisting with care of grandchildren.
Her son Rick would call her a hoarder however she would respond, “I am a collector.” In her last years she would say, “Your gonna miss me when I am gone.” She was very correct , We all miss her!
Having raised her children in Connecticut, they moved to Florida in the late sixties and continued living in the Sarasota area for many years. In the early eighties it was off to Maine to enjoy the waters of the north Atlantic.
Arlene was predeceased by her daughter, Donna Cook of Winter Park, Florida; grandson Morgan Cook of Orlando, Florida; sisters Mary-Love Bigony of Austin, Texas and Jo Ann Mcleod of Waco, Texas; life long friend Margy Robinson of Pompano Beach, Florida. and husband Buddy Logan of Boothbay Harbor.
She is survived by her eldest son, James Fears and wife Lynn of Valdosta, Georgia and her son, Richard Ronnick and companion, Carol Cross of Bristol, Tennessee. She also admired and loved the Logan family of Boothbay Harbor, Thomas and Annie Wilcox, Ellie and Jessie Logan and Hope Logan including all their parents. Finally a big thank you to Sarah Wilcox who had a special place in Arlene’s heart.
Many thanks are extended to Meals on Wheels, Amedisys, Suncrest Hospice, Dr. Yost and her staff, Bristol Regional Hospital and Helen Donnelly.
A Memorial Service in Florida and Maine will be held in August. Please make contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or local Animal Shelters.
