Artist Kathy Buist to be featured during First Friday
We are proud and excited to be exhibiting the etherea and thought provoking works of Kathy Buist. Her work will be featured during the First Friday Art Tour, Oct. 3, 4-7 pm. Black River Gallery, located at 16 McKown St., Boothbay Harbor.
Kathy Buist (b. Allendale, Michigan) is an American painter celebrated for her luminous landscapes that explore memory, light, and our deep sensory connection to nature. Her work examines the way time and atmosphere shape perception, offering viewers a sanctuary of stillness and beauty in an often chaotic world.
Buist earned her MFA cum laude from the New York Academy of Art and has been honored with critical acclaim from The New York Times and Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine, which named her among "Today's Masters." She has exhibited extensively in solo and group shows nationwide. A former resident artist in Vermont and Virginia, Buist's paintings are held in numerous private and public collections worldwide. Her work continues to resonate with collectors and curators alike for its ability to merge technical mastery with an atmosphere of peace, reflection, and connection.
