Balance and fall prevention discussion Feb. 5
MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital’s Parkinson’s Support Group will feature a presentation on improving balance and preventing falls at its next session on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. in the community room at Chase Point Assisted Living.
Alexandra DeRosia, MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital physical therapist, will also discuss balance challenges that many people with Parkinson’s disease experience.
DeRosia holds a doctor of physical therapy from Franklin Pierce University and specialty certifications in vestibular rehabilitation, concussion care and Parkinson’s management. Her clinical work focuses heavily on neurological conditions and balance-related concerns, and she regularly presents to community groups and at educational programs.
The Parkinson’s Support Group is open to individuals living with Parkinson’s disease, caregivers and community members who may benefit from education and support.
