Boothbay Harbor man sentenced to 3 years
Reginald Gracie Jr., 41, a former Boothbay Harbor pharmacist, has been sentenced to three years in federal prison after admitting he took more than $120,000 in bribes and filing false tax returns.
Gracie, of Bowdoin, who worked for the Boothbay Rite Aid pharmacy for about two years in the early 2000s, was the lead pharmacist in 2006 for the Penobscot Indian Nation’s mail order pharmacy called PIN-Rx.
He pleaded guilty to federal charges in a scheme that involved taking kickbacks to fill mostly narcotic prescriptions for online drug companies when the mail order business wilted.
Former Boothbay pharmacist Rick Powis, who worked with Gracie at the local Rite Aid, said he remembered Gracie as a fine pharmacist and very responsible.
