Colleen Higgins of Wakefield, Mass., was given a surprise bridal shower brunch at the Spruce Point Inn on June 1. It was hosted by her mother, Cheryl Higgins of East Boothbay and Isamorada, Fla.

In attendance were her future mother-in-law, Michelle Farnham of Boothbay Harbor, her maid of honor, Michele Cacioppo of Bainbridge Island, Wash., relatives and friends.

The bride's fiance is Marshall Farnham of Boothbay Harbor.

The wedding is planned for August 10 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Boothbay Harbor. A reception will follow at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens.
