CTL celebrates Earth Day
The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) in Edgecomb put its best face forward on April 22 to ensure a green future with a community-wide spring habitat renewal project to answer the question, “What are you doing for Earth Day?”
Over 75 students, teachers, and parents raked lawns, cleared leaves from drains and culverts to free stream flow and weeded gardens in order to allow new spring shoots, leaves and flowers to grow. They planted flowers, hung birdhouses and nesting boxes, and cleaned and refilled feeders around the buildings.
They also renewed their commitment to recycling by turning and reinvigorating the contents of the school’s compost bin.
By sprucing up their “habitat” CTL is giving climate change, the theme of this year’s Earth Day, a positive face in Edgecomb.
