Death Café at MacNab's
Death Café Boothbay will be held Thursday, July 25 at MacNab’s Tea Room on Back River Road from 7 to 9 p.m. This is Boothbay’s first Death Café.
According to the Death Café website, “At Death Cafes people come together in a relaxed and safe setting to discuss death, drink tea and eat delicious cake.
“The objective of Death Café is 'To increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives.'”
“Death Café does not constitute a bereavement support or grief counseling setting, especially not for people who have experienced a very recent and/or traumatic loss or death.”
Death Cafe Boothbay is made possible through the generosity of Fran Brown and Nancy Hilton of MacNab's.
Death Café Boothbay will be facilitated by Lynne Tobin, LPC. Tobin has worked extensively with hospice as a counselor, bereavement group facilitator and as an end-of-life educator. She taught at St. Joseph College as a counselor educator and maintains a private practice in Boothbay.
Please call 207-633-4432 and let us know you are coming. We don’t want to run out of cake.
