Attention all young performers who love to sing, act, and spend their summer doing what they love most—being on stage! Maine State Music Theatre still has youth audition time slots for two productions in its 2026 season: Disney’s “Frozen” and “Matilda JR.” Ages for “Frozen” - 8 to 12 yrs old (or looks that age) and for “Matilda” - 8 to 18 years old only.

Auditions will be by appointment only on Sunday, Feb. 1 at 22 Elm St., Brunswick. Audition times still available (as of Jan. 21) at https://shorturl.at/yRDyn.

Times: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Singing: 3 – 4 p.m.; Read/Movement:- only if asked to stay. What to prepare and bring: Photo and resume: One recent picture from the shoulders up and your height with theatre resume stapled back-to-back. Singing: Prepare 2 songs (different types). You will sing 16 bars from each song. Bring sheet music in the correct key and mark correctly the 16 bars you will be singing. Dance/Read: Those asked to stay after singing may read from the script(s) and/or may do some movement. Bring comfortable shoes. “Frozen” rehearsal and show schedule:“Frozen” rehearsal schedule: days and evenings Saturday, June 27 through Wednesday, July 15. Mainstage production show run: July 15 – Aug. 1; eight shows per week: matinees at 2 p.m. and evening shows at 7:30 p.m.

“Matilda JR” rehearsal and show schedule: Rehearsal for all roles Tuesday, July 14 – Tuesday, Aug. 11. Show date: Monday, Aug. 10 at 10 a.m. and 1, 4, and 6 p.m.
