Gloria I. Brewer, 75, of Edgecomb, died October 19, 2012 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.  She was born January 19, 1937 in Boothbay to Amos and Phyllis Barter.

She graduated from Boothbay Harbor High School in the class of 1956.  She worked as a nurse’s aide for many years working alongside Frances Rule.  She was a long time active member of the Boothbay Baptist Church.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles.

She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Amos Barter Jr., Paul Barter and sisters, Edith Giles, Beatrice Blake, Evangeline Morgan and Dorothy “Dot” Barter.

She is survived by her husband, Allen Brewer of Edgecomb; son Robert Brewer of Edgecomb; daughter Tamara Rother of Boynton Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Andrew Brewer of Gorham, Allison of Boothbay, William Brewer of Newcastle, Nicole Stone of Arizona, and Danielle Rother of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and brother Robert Barter.

A service to celebrate Gloria’s life will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 at the Boothbay Baptist Church.  A reception will follow the service at the church. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Boothbay.
