Happy birthday to everyone celebrating this next week. Hope my four Fire Crackers have a great day. Wish my birthday had such a celebration.

The ladies of Alna's T.O.P.S. group were recognized at the State of Maine Convention in May.

Chapter leader Shirley Rice accepted the award they were given. Out of 100 plus chapters Alna

placed 5th for the state.

To qualify for this, each member has to loose eight pounds per person. The ladies averaged 9.6 pounds per person. TOPS is held at the Newcastle Alna Church, weigh in is 6 to 6:30 p.m. and the meeting follows at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. All are welcome to join; TOPS stands for “take off pounds sensibly.”

The WW&F Railway Museum's "Ice Cream Social" is Saturday, July 6 (rain date, July 7). Tge train leaves Sheepscot Station on the Crossroad going to Alna Center Station at 11:30 a.m., 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. The ice cream is local from Lear's Ice Cream in Wiscasset. I was sitting in court house parking lot Thursday, June 20 waiting for a friend when I heard this sound. So yes, nosy me, went looking to see what it was. Low and behold I found a go-kart racing around the Lincoln County Sheriff's parking lot. Must be the new addition to the fleet. It was painted up to represent the LCS; I'm thinking it is for parades.

They were taking tuns driving it, some were real fast while others putted like little old lady. maybe they wee checking out who could drive the best, not sure. Hey, if I was younger and whole lot smaller, I would have gone over and asked if I could have a turn. Go-karts are so much fun if you use your head diving them. Made me miss my stock car racing days at Wiscasset.

To the fire department crew who put on the baked bean and ham suppers: Everyone is asking when will you do another one? Folks love your suppers; I know it's the food but the fun is nice, too. So please, Hunter's Breakfast is too long to wait for some more of that good cooking.
