    One of New England’s largest family bluegrass festivals, the Blistered Fingers Bluegrass Festival is celebrating its 51st festival at the Litchfield Fairgrounds (30 Plains Road, Litchfield). Directions are located on the flyers or on the website.

    The gates opened Sunday, Aug. 19 for campers. The festival grounds have a big stage that was built in 2010, Indoor bathroom facilities, four free hot showers and numerous water hookups throughout the grounds, and electrical hookups. There will be several types of vendors located on the grounds. The festival location has that ‘Welcome Home’ Country atmosphere. Everyone who attends loves our camping grounds. We also have a lot of Field picking throughout the festival - so bring your fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar … and join in!

    Tickets (prices per person) available at gate:  Earl Bird Camping (Sunday, Monday & Tuesday before festival) $10/ day per camper;  all four days (Thursday - Sunday) with FREE camping- $90; children 16 and under free with paying adult. Single day rates: Wednesday - $15, Thursday - $20, Friday - $35 til 5 p.m. then tickets are $25; Saturday only- $35 after 5 p.m. $25; Sunday – free with weekend pass. Dogs: $10. Power- $35 for your entire stay.Weekend tickets for each festival will cover four days of great music and camping from Wednesday to Saturday and Sunday Morning Gospel Sing Along and Jam. Day tickets are also available at the gate.   

    The Blistered Fingers Kids Academy is a free, relaxed, informative three-day music program for children for ages 6-18. The focus is how to play, sing and perform bluegrass music. Students can bring their own instruments and will commit to the three day program. The kids all get a free T-shirt and perform a couple of songs as a group on main stage.

    There will be an Extra Large tent for coverage. Just bring your lawn chairs and come have a great time! Here’s the music lineup: The Gibson Brothers (NY) - Saturday; Ralph Stanley II & The Clinch Mountain Boys (VA) - Thursday; Nothin Fancy (VA) - Thursday and Friday;  The Bluegrass Brothers (VA) - Wednesday and Thursday; Bluegrass Diamonds (New Brunswick) - Friday and Saturday; Remington Ryde (PA) - Saturday;  Zink and Company (MA) - Friday and Saturday; The Feinberg Brothers (NY)  Wednesday;  Aaron Foster & Dreamcatcher (TN) - Friday;  Phat Burger Deluxe (ME) - Friday; the host band, Blistered Fingers - Saturday; and the Bluegrass Gospel Sing & Jam (MA) - Sunday.
