On July 3 Lester and Joanne Morse celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

The Morses were married July 3, 1962, in Cutler. They moved to Connecticut for a few years, then moved back home to Machias, where they resided for many years until they moved to Wiscasset in 1982.

Lester started Lester Morse Service Center and Used Cars in Dresden. He later opened a second business of the same name in Wiscasset, which he still owns today.

Joanne worked at Wiscasset Primary School for 28 years in food service department. She just retired last year.

Lester and Joanne have three children, Lester Morse Jr. of Dresden, Holly Christiano of Florida, and Suzanne Sukeforth and husband Duane of Wiscasset. They have many grandchildren that they love spending time with.

A celebration with their family is planned to celebrate for their 50 years of marriage.
