Lincoln County Animal Shelter rescues new dogs
On Friday, Oct. 26, the Lincoln County Animal Shelter assisted the State of Maine Animal Welfare Program with a recovery of eight dogs in Waldo County. In the coming week, three to four more dogs will be arriving from this recovery; age and breed are unknown at this time.
There were a total of 19 dogs living in unsuitable conditions.
Other than these new arrivals, there are currently 26 dogs at the shelter.
The new dogs are as follows: a 2-year-old Chihuahua/pug mix; 2 male lab/beagle mix, both both 11 years old; a 3 year-old male Rhodesian ridgeback cross, a super sweet 2-year-old male American pit bull terrier; a 9-year old Shih tzu female; a 4-year-old American Eskimo male and a yo-year-old Dachshund female.
Due to this situation the shelter is in need of donations: time, funds, supplies, etc., to help with these rescue/recovery dogs. As is the case with all shelter animals, they are in need of a warm home and loving people to care for them.
Call Carrie or Shelter Manager Betsy Pratt for more information and to donate at 882-9677.
