Lincoln County Sheriff's Office: 3 arrests
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 265 calls for service for the period of Oct. 7 to Oct. 14. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 11,550 calls for service.
Summons
Kelsey J. Smith, 30, of Jefferson was issued a summons Oct. 7 for Criminal Mischief, on Grand Army Road, Whitefield, by Deputy Kasey Doyle.
Arrests
Michael L. Hanna, 51, of Damariscotta was arrested Oct. 10 on a Sagadahoc County warrant for Failure to Appear after Bailed, on Branch Road, Damariscotta, by Detective Justin Drake.
Alexandra J. Welch, 28, of Whitefield was arrested Oct. 12 for Obstructing a Public Way, on Main Street, Damariscotta, by Detective Matthew Ryan, who was assisted by Deputy Joseph Booth.
William R. Morton, 37, of Boothbay was arrested Oct. 13 for Domestic Violence Assault – Priors and four counts of Violating Condition of Release, on Ocean Point Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Ethan Burns.
Accidents
On Oct. 7, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Robert M. Williams, 85, of West Palm Beach, Florida. Mr. Williams was operating his 2024 Maserati eastbound and stopped at the stop sign on Mill Road to turn right onto Boothbay Road. Mr. Williams stated he could not see the road and went off the roadway, across the road, before striking a utility pole, causing damage to the back driver’s side quarter panel of his vehicle. Mr. Williams may have hit the accelerator, instead of the brake at the stop sign. Deputy Jeffrey Rogers was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 7, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Graham R. Blanchette, 36, of Whitefield and Frederick Eversole, 73, of Newcastle. Mr. Blanchette was operating his 2010 Toyota RAV4 southbound and Mr. Eversole was also traveling southbound behind Blanchette in his 2016 Nissan Frontier. Blanchette turned on his blinker and pulled to the shoulder of Route 1 in an attempt to make a right hand turn onto Station Road, when he decided not to turn and attempted to merge back into traffic on Route 1. In doing so, Blanchette struck Eversole’s vehicle who was passing by in the southbound lane. Deputy Kasey Doyle was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 7, an accident occurred on Augusta Road in Jefferson involving Jacob M. Ibscher, 35, of Lewiston. Mr. Ibscher was operating his 2000 Ford Mustang northbound when a deer entered the roadway from the left, causing his vehicle to swerve right to avoid the deer. As a result, his vehicle went off the roadway to the right, struck a telephone pole and then came to a stop after striking a tree. Deputy Nathan Yeaton was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 7, an accident occurred on Patterson Road in Dresden involving Shaun J. Fecteau, 66, of Lisbon. Mr. Fecteau was operating his 2025 Toyota RAV4 westbound when a deer struck the passenger side corner of his vehicle. Deputy Ethan Burns was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 8, an accident occurred on River Road in Newcastle involving Brittany Fielding, 32, of Newcastle. Ms. Fielding was operating her 2019 Toyota RAV4 southbound when she struck a deer that ran into the roadway. Deputy Ethan Burns was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 12, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Jefferson involving Mark R. Vannah, 63, of Waldoboro. Mr. Vannah was operating his 2022 Toyota Tundra westbound when a deer ran into the road in front of him and was struck, causing driver’s side front end damage. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
