Maine police chiefs honor 3 Wiscasset officers
Wiscasset Selectmen's Chair Sarah Whitfield, Selectman William "Bill" Maloney and Town Manager Dennis Simmons recently attended the Maine Chiefs of Police Association annual awards banquet, where three members of Wiscasset Police Department were recognized for exceptional service.
Officer Hunter Farrell and Officer Jonathan Barnes each received a Life Saving Award in recognition of their actions during incidents in which their response helped save a life, including our own Chief Lawrence Hesseltine. These awards reflect the professionalism, training and commitment Wiscasset officers bring to their work every day.
Sgt. Perry Hatch was also recognized with a surprise award honoring his 40 years of outstanding contributions to law enforcement. Sgt. Hatch’s long career represents a remarkable record of public service, dedication, and commitment to the safety of the community.
“The Town of Wiscasset is proud of Officer Farrell, Officer Barnes, and Sgt. Hatch,” said Simmons. “Their recognition by the Maine Chiefs of Police Association is well deserved. It is especially meaningful that Wiscasset was the only agency with multiple award winners, which speaks highly of the professionalism and dedication of our Police Department.”
The Town extends its congratulations to all three officers and thanks them for their continued service to Wiscasset and the broader law enforcement community.
