MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital nurse earns statewide leadership award
Rachel Dodge, RN, CMSRN, a charge nurse on the Medical Surgical unit at MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital (MHLH), has been honored with the Emerging Nurse Leadership Award by the Organization of Maine Nurse Leaders (OMNL). The award was presented Oct. 3 during the organization’s annual meeting.
This award recognizes rising nurse leaders who demonstrate innovation, mentorship and a strong commitment to improving patient care. Nominated by MaineHealth Coastal Region Director of Clinical and Professional Development Beth Kessler, DNP, RN, NE-BC,Dodge was praised for upholding the highest standards of nursing leadership and inspiring her teammates through her dedication, vision and commitment to excellence.
“Her impact extends far beyond her immediate team, shaping a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and growth that not only strengthens staff but also meaningfully improves patient outcomes,” Kessler wrote in the nomination.
Kessler said Dodge has strengthened team engagement, professional development and patient care. From introducing creative teaching tools for new nurses to leading successful quality improvement projects, her work has had a measurable impact on both staff and patient outcomes.
This award marks the third consecutive year a MHLH nurse has received statewide recognition from OMNLOMNL Nursing Leaders of Maine is a statewide network of nursing professionals dedicated to shaping health care through innovative leadership, collaboration and advocacy.
