The Miles Memorial Hospital League Thrift Shop and Bargain Basement, in coordination with their Drop Off Building, are pleased to announce the schedules for the $5 Back Door Bag Sales held at the MMHL Thrift Shop and Bargain Basement, 114 Church Street, Damariscotta on the first Saturday of each month.

Here is the schedule for the remainder of the year; The doors open at 10 a.m. and we supply the bag: May 4, June 1, July 6, August 3, September 7, October 5, November 2 and December 7.

The Miles Memorial Hospital League is also scheduling Mini Tent Sales for the third Saturday of each of the months listed below. These Mini Tent Sales begin at 7:30 a.m. and close at 1:30 p.m.: May 18, June 15, July 20, August 17, September 21, October 19, November, to be announced.

Mini Tent Sales are held at the Drop Off Building located at the corner of Belvedere Road and U.S. Route 1. This year the volunteers will be wearing their new logo-wear, lime green T-shirts with our blue MMHL logo. These shirts were provided to us as a donation by Harbor Embroidery in Boothbay Harbor.  

“The enthusiasm of our volunteers and our customers is what makes these endeavors such a success” remarked Joy Walker, Manager. Items are donated and dropped off at the Drop Off Building – sorted and sent to the Thrift Shop; there they are sorted through again with, terrific and best items staying on the Thrift Shop level and better and good items being sent to the Bargain Basement.

After the $5 Bag Sales in the Bargain Basement items are packed up and sent back to the Drop Off to be sold at the Mini Tent Sales.

“There is something for everyone at the Thrift Shop and Bargain Basement and by the clamor for information regarding the daily 50 percent off Color Sales, Bargain Basement $5.00 Bag Sales and Mini Tent Sales we have obviously attracted a loyal following, which we are thankful for,” said Karen Filler, President of the League.

Donations are tax deductible and donation forms and a 10 percent off coupon are available to all who donate.
