North Pole Express returns to Boothbay with adults only event
Each December Boothbay Railway Village Museum (BRVM) transforms into a magical Christmas wonderland for families. The North Pole Express event takes place on Saturdays and Sundays for three consecutive weekends, beginning Dec. 6. The train visits the "North Pole" eight times daily, with the first train departing at 10:45 a.m. and the last train at 4 p.m.
Event highlights include: a vintage train ride to the North Pole, where children can hand deliver their letter to Santa, followed by a festive array of holiday activities around the village to include: a hot cocoa bar and tasty treats, holiday inspired arts and crafts, an elf hunt, S’mores by the fire, and more!
This year the event series will also feature an adult only train, The North Pole Nightcap, on Saturday, Dec. 13. Tickets must be purchased in advance and online at https://railwayvillage.org/
Attendees can also enjoy local holiday shopping at Iron Horse Antiques and General Store, and Maine authors-signed children’s books.
The North Pole Express event is an annual fundraiser for the Boothbay Railway Village Museum and all tickets purchased help to sustain present and future operations. Volunteers are needed and very much appreciated. To sign up visit https://railwayvillage.org/ or call 207-633-4727.
BRVM is located at 586 Wiscasset Road/Route 27 in Boothbay.
