Paul A. Erskine

Paul Alson Erskine, 69, of Chewonki Neck Road, Wiscasset died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012 at Winship Green Nursing Center in Bath.

He was born in Damariscotta on Dec. 20, 1942, a son of Alson and Helen (Cowley) Erskine.

He graduated from Wiscasset High School and attended Maine Maritime Academy. He entered and served in the U.S. Army and graduated from Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. He was employed as a machinist for Mechanical Applications in Wiscasset, which he later purchased in 1984. On March 31, 1984 he married Carolyn Bailey.

He enjoyed genealogy.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Erskine of Wiscasset; two stepsons, Jim Bailey of Oakland, Calif., and Bill Bailey of Klamath Falls, Ore.; one brother, Richard Erskine of Waterville; one sister, Rebecca Townsend and her husband Robert of Edgecomb; three step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High St., Bath. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Alna Cemetery in Alna.
