Rest and relaxation after the Fourth
Alna's Historical Building Tour day is July 13 from noon to 4 p.m. The Meetinghouse, Head Tide Church, Village School at Puddledock and the Center School will be open to visitors.
The Committee for Alna History is having a Summer Sunday Concert to benefit the Meetinghouse. The Jenny Wilson Trio from Morgantown, W.V., will be performing at the Meetinghouse on July 14 at 3 p.m. This is a day for listening to some great Jazz music, donation of $10.
A portion of the proceeds from this concert will directly benefit the Meetinghouse. Jenny will be premiering tunes from her newest CD, released-fresh off the press as of July 3. She will be playing from her CD the successful song, “What She Sang in Winter.” The is part of their New England tour, you have a great chance to hear superb players close to home. Great music. Great cause. Please come and prepare to be wowed!
The committee would like to thank all who came to the last concert. We appreciate your support of the groups, who come to help us keep the Alna Historical Buildings in shape.
African Drumming by Judy Nielsen will start on August 7 to September 24. This is a beginning class that runs Wednesdays from 6:30-8 p.m. You can rent a djembe for the sessions. For more information, visit www.hvnc.org or call 207-200-8840.
