Rising Tide donates to local nonprofits
Rising Tide Community Market in Damariscotta recently donated $300 each to Spectrum Generations’ Meals on Wheels program and the Damariscotta River Association as part of its Co-ops for Community Day program.
Through this program, Rising Tide donates one percent of Wednesday sales, up to $300 per month, to local non-profit organizations that have been nominated and selected by co-op member-owners.
Spectrum Generations was the Co-ops for Community Day recipient for the month of April. As Central Maine’s Meals on Wheels provider, Spectrum Generations is committed to providing freshly prepared meals, delivered by dedicated volunteers and staff to 128 communities throughout Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Somerset, and Waldo Counties, plus the towns of Harpswell and Brunswick in Cumberland County
This year, they will prepare, package, deliver, and serve nearly 300,000 meals to homebound older and disabled adults and to seniors who dine at one of their seven community centers.
The Damariscotta River Association is a nonprofit community-supported land trust working in the greater Damariscotta River region. DRA conserves critical land and water resources, including outstanding wildlife habitat, public access, and cultural treasures like oyster shell middens.
The DRA was Rising Tide’s Co-ops for Community Day recipient for the month of May.
July’s beneficiary of the Co-ops for Community Day program is the Lincoln County Animal Shelter.
