The Committee for Alna History would like to thank the Jenny Wilson Trio for performing recently. The afternoon was quite warm in the old Meeting House. We would like to thank Bridget Mullen and Chris Kenoyer for all their volunteered help that day. The jazz was excellent and folks really got into the music.

The Head Tide Church is open every Saturday to the public from 2 to 4 p.m.

Amy sent out reminder notices that by the last of August, first of September, she will start liens for unpaid 2012 taxes. Amy keeps everyone up to date on most everything in town that's going on, she uses a town email list. If you have changed your email, let her know. This saves a lot of postage, except if we have to certify a letter.

I want to thank all who prayed for my son-in-law Jim Lawrence. He got his left hand crushed between two pieces of steel at work. He was in New Jersey overseeing a job at the shipyard. On Sunday Jim had X-rays and got good news. They can fix them and do skin graft Wednesday. He wanted to go back to work Friday afternoon with a bandaged hand. Boss told him no way, go back to hotel and rest until your wife gets here. The company flew my daughter Inez down, which was Saturday. Once again, thank you for all the prayers; the family sure appreciates your concern.

Have a good week and don't get too much sun. Enjoy swimming while you can this summer is going so fast. The kids will soon be back in school.
