Timothy Frank James, 71, of Wiscasset passed away on Aug. 26, 2025. He died peacefully at home following a two-year battle with cancer.

Born on Dec. 5, 1953 in Augusta, Tim was the first son of Franklin and Kathleen (Grady) James. Tim grew up leading and supporting his six brothers, Ernie, Larry, Randy, Franklin (Skip), Grady and Donnie, fostering a tight-knit family bond. Known for their camaraderie and humor, Tim set an example for his younger brothers. Tim is also survived by his half sister, Angie James-Maitland.

Tim was married to Susan (Colby) James for over 30 years, raising their children, Jessica, T.J. and Lindsey. He was a devoted grandfather to Jessica’s sons, Trinin and the late Trey. Later, Tim found love again, marrying Nancy (Hanson) James, embracing her children, Colin and Caitlin.

Tim had a long career at Bath Iron Works retiring after 41 years. Tim was also an avid clam digger, acting as the longstanding Wiscasset Shellfish Committee Chairman.

In his free time, Tim enjoyed throwing horseshoes, bowling and dancing in the kitchen.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Tim will be deeply missed by his loving family, friends and all that knew him.
