Treasures await at the 56th annual Rotary Auction
Each and every August, folks from around the region look forward to the unique assortment of treasures on display at the Rotary Benefit Auction. This year is certainly no exception.
Young and old are invited to join local Rotarians on Saturday, August 3 on the Boothbay Common to peruse items for every member of the family.
New to the event this year will be a Book Tent featuring more than 5000 volumes of fiction, non-fiction, Maine themed books, children’s books, cookbooks and more.
The always fascinating Flea Market and Boutique will be open from 8 a.m. to noon and will be filled with gently used collectibles, books, toys, games, china, glassware, housewares and perhaps even the kitchen sink. No reasonable offer will be refused.
This year’s Silent Auction will run from 9 a.m. to noon and will feature fine goods, services, unique experiences, and gift certificates from many local merchants, restaurants, and businesses. You will not want to miss it.
The always popular “Tool Tent” will also be returning this year to the delight of do-it-yourselfers across the peninsula. We will have everything ranging from garden tools, mowers and hand tools to building supplies, new and used sinks, faucets and shower doors.
The Live Auction which begins at 10 a.m. sharp features the auctioneer Bob Foster who is always an audience favorite. Some of the highlights being auctioned off this year include several boats, antique furniture, outdoor furniture, complete living room and bedroom sets, kitchen cabinets, donations from local contractors and much more. Donations are still arriving daily.
We would hate for anyone to shop on an empty stomach, therefore the East Boothbay Methodist Church will be providing food and drink throughout the morning including coffee and homemade donuts for the early birds. Bring the entire family, join in the fun and tradition, and help to support local charitable programs in your community.
