"How To Train Your Dragon" PG; 1 hour, 56 minutes. Return to the windswept cliffs of Berk in this stunning live-action reimagining of How to Train Your Dragon. Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III (Mason Thames) is no stranger to dragon-hunting tradition—but he's not like the other Vikings. Overshadowed by his warrior father, Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler), Hiccup surprises everyone when he forms an unlikely bond with Toothless, a mysterious Night Fury feared by all.
With the help of the bold and brilliant Astrid (Nico Parker) and the ever-quirky blacksmith Gobber (Nick Frost), Hiccup begins to uncover a deeper truth about dragons, forcing the people of Berk to rethink everything they thought they knew. As a new, ancient threat looms, the fate of both species depends on trust, courage, and the unbreakable bond between a boy and his dragon.Familiar faces, fresh perspective—How to Train Your Dragon soars to new heights in a heartfelt retelling that honors the original and breathes new fire into the saga. Wednesday, June 25. Thursday, June 26, 7 p.m.
“Toothless is as charismatic as ever; the flying sequences and natural landscapes are appropriately breathtaking, and if the film is overly enamored of lesser dragons belching fire at incoherently bellowing Norsemen, well, so was the original.” – Bob Mondello, NPR
"Jane Austin Wrecked My Life" R; 1 hour, 38 minutes. "Jane Austen Wrecked My Life" is a charming contemporary romance that blends literary nostalgia with fresh, French flair. Directed by Laura Piani and starring Camille Rutherford, the film follows Agathe Robinson—an aspiring writer stuck in a quiet life of routine at Shakespeare & Co. bookstore in Paris. Haunted by past trauma and paralyzed by self-doubt, Agathe yearns for the sweeping love stories she devours in books but struggles to write her own.Unbeknownst to her, Agathe’s loyal best friend Felix (Pablo Pauly) submits her unfinished manuscript to the prestigious Jane Austen Residency in England—and she’s accepted. Faced with the opportunity of a lifetime, Agathe must summon the courage to step beyond her comfort zone.In the English countryside, she’s greeted by Oliver (Charlie Anson, Downton Abbey), a literature professor and descendant of Austen herself. Though their first impressions clash, a slow-burning connection begins to grow. Just as sparks start to fly, Felix arrives unexpectedly, stirring up feelings that challenge Agathe’s heart—and her next chapter.
Witty, heartfelt, and full of romantic tension, Jane Austen Wrecked My Life is a love letter to second chances, personal courage, and the timeless magic of Austen-inspired storytelling.
