Weston Rice of East Boothbay died August 31, 2012.

Born in East Boothbay on August 3, 1928, he was the son of Carl and Helen Rice.   Weston, or "Wes" as his many friends called him, served in the U.S. Army and was employed at Robinhood Marina for many years and also worked on Squirrel Island as a caretaker with his brother, Harland. 

He enjoyed hunting, gardening and spending time with his friends at Gray's Wharf.

He is survived by brothers, Clifton and his wife Peggy of Westport, and Harland and his wife Louise of East Boothbay;  sisters, Janice Grant and husband Clayton of Edgecomb, and Barbara Brooks and husband Alden of Alna.  

He was predeceased by his parents and five brothers and a sister, Gordon, Louis, Betty, John, and Preston “Skipper” Rice, as well as many nieces and nephews.  

A graveside service is planned for Saturday, Sept. 29 at 11 a.m. at Ocean View Cemetery in Boothbay.
