The Westport Island RSU 12 withdrawal committee discussed the proposed withdrawal agreement that will be used between the SVRSU 12 negotiating committee and the Westport Island withdrawal committee at their meeting Monday night.  The committee is trying to schedule the first negotiations meeting before the end of September.

The members decided that they could not meet the state-proposed 90-day withdrawal plan development schedule completion date of October 19, and agreed to send a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Education, Jim Rier, asking for a 90-day extension from that date.

The committee further decided to cancel future business meetings until after the first negotiations meeting with the SVRSU 12 negotiating committee.
