Worker injured at Jefferson business
J.C. Stone employee hospitalized

An employee of J.C. Stone on Route 17 in Jefferson was transported to Maine General Hospital in Augusta July 9, to be checked out after a piece of shelving fell on him, Jefferson Fire Chief Walter Morris said.
The accident happened around 9 a.m. The man was putting up shelving when the piece fell on him; he “blacked out” briefly, but was awake and responsive shortly afterward, Morris said.
Jefferson Fire and Rescue responded, along with Waldoboro EMS, which transported him to the hospital, the chief said.
A cut on the man’s forehead was bandaged was at the scene. His identity was not immediately available.
