Zimmerli at Wilson Chapel July 28
The Reverend Dr. Mary Jo Zimmerli will be the guest preacher at the Wilson Chapel at Ocean Point on Sunday, July 28 at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome.
Zimmerli and her husband, Rev. Dr. Robert E. Zimmerli, are year-round residents of East Boothbay. Mary Jo is a retired United Methodist Church pastor who has served as chaplain in a group home for abused children and youth, and as a chaplain in a psychiatric hospital in Baltimore, Md. She was a Resident Supervisor in Clinical Pastoral Education at the Sibley Memorial Hospital, and chaplain at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
After serving as a pastor of a local church, Mary Jo Zimmerli was appointed District Superintendent of the Baltimore North District of the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church with 79 churches for six years. She is a graduate of the Sibley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Washington, D.C. (RN), Mt. St. Mary’s College, Emmittsburg, Md., Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington, D.C., and Drew University, Madison, N.J.
Zimmerli is active with the St. Andrews Hospital Auxiliary, the Lincoln Arts Festival and the Boothbay Region Garden Club. She attends East Boothbay United Methodist Church.
