Recent staff promotions

Two Bridges Regional Jail held a Promotion Celebration on Thursday, July 26, 2012 to recognize officers who have been promoted to the ranks of Corporal, Sergeant or Lieutenant. The celebration was held in the conference room at the jail in Wiscasset, and family members and staff looked on as they were sworn in by Jail Authority Clerk Katharine Martin-Savage and presented with a Certificate of Promotion by Correctional Administrator Col. Mark Westrum, and their bars or stripes by Maj. Mark Anderson.
What was unique about the promotion ceremony this time is that Officer Richard Wardwell participated in the ceremony through Skype from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates where he is currently deployed as a member of the National Guard. Wardwell will complete his tour of duty and return to his post at Two Bridges in November. Officer Wardwell was Sergeant.
Promoted to the rank of Corporal are Officers Shaun Robinson and Norman Rogers; promoted to the rank of Sergeant are Officer Jamin Grantham – Programs, Policy, Compliance, and Training Supervisor, Officer Richard Wardwell and Corporal Kyle Canada - Classification, Booking, Records Supervisor; promoted to the rank of Lieutenant is Sgt. Darryl Groh.
Westrum congratulated the officers and thanked them for going through the intensive promotional process which consisted of both written tests and oral interviews. The interview committee included Sgt. Ken Hatch of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Sherry McLaughlin of the Kennebec County Jail, and Capt. Tim Cortes of the York County Jail as well as Maj. Mark Anderson of Two Bridges Regional Jail.
In addressing the newly appointed officers, Westrum said, “An organization is only as good as its staff, and particularly its leaders. You have exhibited exemplary ability, and your dedication to Two Bridges Regional Jail is greatly appreciated. We salute you for your promotion and are proud to have you as part of our Management Team.” He also recognized Cpl. Robinson for perfect attendance for the year, for the second year in a row.
